AMA SX250: Kitchen wins A2 Triple Crown
Only in the last final of an eventful evening at the Angel Stadium of Anaheim was Jett Lawrence able to make his mark. The 250SX championship leader's bad luck opened the door for Star Racing Yamaha promise Levi Kitchen. However, LAwrence remains comfortable leader in the standings
Kitchen was the most regular in Anaheim with a 4-2-2 score ahead of Lawrence and Stylez Robertson.
Hampshire from start to finish
In the first of three finals, Levi Kitchen (Star Racing Yamaha) took the holeshot but RJ Hampshire quickly took command. The Husqvarna factory rider then led from start to finish. He ultimately made it just over a second ahead of Pierce Brown (Troy Lee Designs GasGas).
Championship leader Jett Lawrence (Honda) had a bad start, although it did not take long for him to join the top 3. The Australian superstar then moved up to P2 but then made a mistake. Lawrence recovered somewhat but had to settle for fourth place. Levi Kitchen and Mitchell Oldenburg (MCR Honda) completed the top five.

Stylez Robertson surprises
Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Cameron McAdoo raced to the holeshot. However, it would not last long at the start as Phil Nicoletti moved into the lead on the first lap. As is often the case with Triple Crown races, this final was also full of surprises. Nicoletti surprised friend and foe by lasting as leader at the front of the nine laps. Then he had to let go of Star Racing Yamaha duo Stilez Robertson and Levi Kitchen. The 20-year-old Robertson would finish the job, his first victory in a final.
This final was one to quickly forget for both Max Vohland (Red Bull KTM), who was second and made a mistake, and Jett Lawrence. Lawrence missed his start and then crashed on the first lap. MCR Honda's Mitchell Oldenburg now finished fourth while AEO Powersports KTM rider Derek Kelley (KTM) recorded his first top-5 of the season.
RJ Hampshire, winner of the first final, made a spectacular mistake in the third round. He was 13th at the time.
