Technology: The High speed and Low speed settings on your suspension
Understanding and adjusting your dirt bike suspension is often seen as a daunting task for many riders. There are many different variables and settings involved in a properly set up suspension. This video will discuss some of the terms you'll hear in connection with the high and low speed settings of your motorcycle's suspension and give you some tips on how to set your shock absorber compression correctly for you and your riding style.
First of all, it is important that you know the differences between the terms compression, rebound, high speed and low speed.
- Compression: the input stroke of your suspension
- Rebound: the outward stroke of your suspension
- High speed: the setting of a rapid (compression) movement on the suspension over its travel
- Low speed: the setting of a slow (compression) movement on the suspension over its travel
