Van der Werff with double victory to women's title
Just like last month, the ladies were once again allowed to choose a place behind the starting gate at the Vossenberg circuit in Meijel last Sunday. Last month it was Jenitty van der Beek who was the fastest in the Limburg sand, this time it was Britt van der Werff who managed to win the day with two heat victories. She also won the championship in this class.
Despite a fall and a missed turn, Van der Beek managed to take second place twice in the heats and therefore also second place in the daily rankings. Kaylee van Dam achieved her first podium of the season in this class with two third places. Cynthia Swets and Demi Lageman completed the top five.
First heat:
It was Van Dam who had the best start ahead of Van der Werff, Van der Beek, Swets and Lageman. It didn't last long for Van Dam. Already in the first lap, van der Werff and van der Beek flew past her, after which the gaps were quickly opened. Van der Beek crashed, causing Van Dam to fall close behind her, but Van der Beek quickly recovered and quickly regained a large lead from Dam. It was van der Werff who won the heat and was thus assured of the Dutch title in this class. Van der Beek came second, ahead of van Dam, Swets and Demi Lageman.
Second heat:
It was now van der Beek who claimed the holeshot. Behind them were Van der Werff, Swets, van Dam and Millie Welters. However, once again the tension quickly disappeared from the heat. Van Dam quickly took third place from Swets Welters saw Demi Lageman pass him by. Van der Beek missed a corner, which put her slightly behind Van Dam, but she corrected this on the same lap. Van der Werff won the heat again. Van der Beek rode a very strong moto and came closer to Van der Werff lap after lap. However, the gap had become too big due to her fall and she ended up in second place at more than seven seconds. Van Dam finished third again and behind him, Swets and Demi Lageman, those positions were also the same as in the first heat.
First heat:
1. van der Werff 17:31.148, 2. van der Beek +25.329, 3. van Dam +1:19.711, 4. Swets +1 lap, 5. Demi Lageman +1 lap, 6. Cobussen +1 lap, 7. Welters +1 lap, 8. Verstappen +1 lap, 9. van Kempen +1 lap, 10. van Brenk +1 lap.
Second heat:
1. van der Werff 18.37.074, 2. van der Beek +7.813, 3. van Dam +1:19.264, 4. Swets +1 lap, 5. Demi Lageman +1 lap, 6. Welters +1 lap, 7. Cobussen +1 lap, 8. van Kempen +1 lap, 9. Verstappen +1 lap, 10. van Brenk +1 lap.
Daily ranking:
1. van der Werff 120, 2. van der Beek 108, 3. van Dam 100, 4. Swets 94, 5. Demi Lageman 90, 6. Welters 84, 7. Cobussen 84, 8. van Kempen 76, 9. Verstappen 76, 10. van Brenk 70.
