SKS Racing-Husqvarna NL and KNMV will not continue together
After two seasons, the collaboration between SKS Racing-Husqvarna NL and the KNMV comes to an end. The Brabant team was provided by the Dutch federation with riders as we know at Team Italia. However, due to budgetary reasons, the project has come to an end. The contribution from the NOC*NSF will be reduced as a result of this decision.
Years ago, the KNMV established the CTO program (Centre for Top Sport and Education). Motocross talents are supported here by combining a study and a training course from Sports Center Papendal. In 2021, collaboration was sought with SKS Racing-Husqvarna, allowing riders to be accommodated with the team. The results are impressive with bronze for Kay Karssemakers during the 2021 World Youth Championship and winning the 85cc world title earlier this year with Gyan Doensen.
It is still unclear to us what consequences this decision will have for the drivers. Scott Smulders still had a deal for 2023 but he has to look for another team and we do not know Doensen's plans.
