Knuiman takes the title, Conijn wins the final
Marcel Conijn won the last race of the KNMV Open Dutch Championship 250cc with a third and first place. The KTM rider won ahead of Kjell Verbruggen (1-7) and Joel Rizzi (2-6). However, the leading role went to Jeremy Knuiman because the 19-year-old rider took the title without winning a round.

In the training Verbruggen is the fastest, but Conijn sprints fastest to the first corner. Verbruggen quickly comes forward, but he makes a mistake, which means he loses places. Kjeld Stuurman briefly holds second place, but later he cannot make a fist against Verbruggen. He quickly manages to close the gap to leader Conijn and after almost 15 minutes of the race the Boxtel native is in the lead. However, he has to keep going until the checkered flag because Rizzi has a strong final sprint. The stragglers look to get in the Brit's way, but the Yamaha rider comes back, but Verbruggen is not surprised and wins. Rizzi crosses the finish line second ahead of Conijn and 18-year-old De Lange. The top five is completed by Knuiman, who is doing well in the title battle.
2st heat:
The last start of the day Jaap Janssen makes the best start ahead of Conijn who quickly takes the lead. Scott Smulders, a former EMX65 champion, also knows how to work directly for Janssen. Then Verbruggen comes up, but in the second round the winner of the first heat makes a mistake. A little later, De Lange briefly takes over second place, but De Drent sees Smulders take second place again. Bradley Mesters also passes De Lange, but the GasGas rider passes the 15-year-old Mesters later in the race. Then in the second half of the race it is Knuiman who manages to work his way forward very well, after all, he sets the best lap times of the entire field. The Wijchen resident manages to pass Rizzi and later Mesters and De Lange also follow. Conijn is particularly strong and he wins the second heat ahead of Smulders who rode a white Husqvarna. Knuiman comes third and is therefore assured of the title.
