Ilja Wuyts transfers to Yamaha
In 2023 Ilja Wuyts will switch to a Yamaha 65cc. The 6-year-old motocross rider will compete in the colors of the Betemo-Yamaha-De Baets Team. In 2021, Wuyts managed to become the youngest Belgian champion in history. This season, despite health problems, he managed to finish third in the national championship. Wuyts will switch to the 65cc class sooner than expected. It will be a tough task because the student will have to compete against crossers of 7, 8 or 9 years old.
Ilja would like to thank De Baets Motors and Betemo for the trust and the opportunity they offer him! De Baets Motors is a new Yamaha dealer in Hasselt run by former Belgian champion Danny de Baets. He has entered into a partnership with Betemo and former MX3 world champion Sven Breugelmans.
