France wins the European MX of Nations
Ten countries took part this weekend in the European Motocross of Nations, which was held in Spain at the Talaveira de la Reina circuit. France won by a large margin against Italy and Spain. In the women's category, it was Team Spain that won the match.
In this mini MX of Nations, each country is represented by four riders: one in 250cc, one in 125cc and two in 85cc. Each rider takes part in two rounds, which means that 8 results are recorded per team, with the lowest result not counting towards the final ranking.
Worn by Quentin Marc Prugnières, winner in extremis of the first EMX125/250 round ahead of the Slovenian Jan Pancar before losing to the latter in the second round, and by the very fast Amaury Maindru, winner of one round in 85cc and 3rd in the other , France wins the general classification quite easily.
On the second and third steps of the podium, Italy and Spain finished equal on points, but conceded 15 units to France. Slovenia came fourth thanks to Pancar's performance, while the top five was completed by Bulgaria. Note that Belgium did not field a national team in this match.
