Van der Werff takes full score in Overloon
In Overloon, Britt van der Werff took the day's victory in the women's class. At Circuit Duivenbos she passed Amber Simons in the last lap of the first heat to take the heat victory. In the second heat, van der Werff was supreme and won with a lead of 46 seconds over Jenitty van der Beek. Based on the second heat, van der Beek finished second in the daily rankings with a third and second place in the heats. Simons was also able to take his place on the podium of honor with a second and third place in the heats. With two fourth place finishes in the heats, fourth place went to Kaylee van Dam and Cynthia Swets completed the top five.
First heat
It was Simons who had the best start ahead of van der Werff, van Dam, Demy van Brenk and van der Beek. In the first full lap, van Beek passed van Brenk and van Dam and came third. However, the pace of Simons and van der Werff was so high that they lost touch with these ladies. Van Dam was well behind and the battle for fifth place was between Demi Lageman, Swets and van Brenk. It was Swets who quickly managed to take fifth place and rode away from Lageman and van Brenk. This meant that the battle for places 3 to XNUMX was over. The only thing left to decide was who would win the heat. Simons was in the lead for laps, with van der Werff close behind. Simons rode a strong race and held his ground for a long time. However, in the last lap Simons came out of a corner too slowly and van der Werff saw her chance and passed Simons to take the heat victory.
Second heat
Eight more ladies started on the circuit, which had become muddy due to rain. It was again Simons who was the best ahead of van der Werff, van der Beek, van Dam and Swets. In the first lap, van der Werff took the lead and she immediately got van der Beek in the rear wheel. In the battle for places 3 up to and including, the differences were again quickly made and no further changes occurred. At the front it was Van der Beek who crashed on the fourth lap and this took all the tension out of the heat. Van der Werff won the heat ahead of van der Beek, Simons, van Dam and Swets.
