Van de Ven takes her first world title!
It took a lot of blood, sweat and tears, but Nancy van de Ven has achieved her goal. The Zeelander is the new world champion! Of the 25 points lead at the start of the last Grand Prix, 18 remain. The lady from Vlissingen is the first Dutch woman to win this title. In Afyonkarahisar, Courtney Duncan wins the last race of the season, the New Zealander wins both heats.
All arrows were of course focused on the title fight, but next to Duncan there are Larissa Papenmeier and Sara Anderson on the podium. Behind Van de Ven, Lynn Valk comes second in the final standings, while Shana van der Vlist narrowly loses third place in the final standings to Papenmeier.
