Ferrandis wins, Team USA starts on pole
The third qualifying race for the Monster Energy Motocross of Nations was won by Dylan Ferrandis. The Frenchman managed to pass the fallen Chase Sexton on the last lap. Tomorrow during the big day, Team USA can start from pole position ahead of France and Australia. Belgium is doing very well in fifth place, while the Netherlands can go to the starting gate in sixth place.
The born South African Flanders gets the best start ahead of Yamaha colleague Ferrandis, Mattia Guadagnini and Jett Lawrence. Despite a lower starting position, Ruben Fernandez gets off to a good start while Van Horebeek falls with Arminas Jasikonis, Jere Haavisto and Hakon Osterhagen. The American manages to pass Ferrandis and not much later Flanders has to make do. Ferrandis sees the danger and immediately gives chase after he manages to pass Flanders. After a mistake by Ferrands, Sexton seemed to take the win, but in the last lap the American made a mistake and Ferrandis won. Sexton comes second ahead of Lawrence, Fernandez and Flanders. Van Horebeek comes back strong and takes twelfth place!
