The reactions of Team Belgium in Red Bud
“The Red Knights” managed to get a fifth place at the MXoN, but there was probably more to it. Riding the Nations as a team must involve a certain amount of luck and that was not always there at the crucial moments. In any case, Jeremy Van Horebeek, Liam Everts and Jago Geerts did everything they could. Read the reactions of the three drivers and team manager Johan Boonen below. Jeremy Van Horebeek's girlfriend (Glenny) got a nice surprise on her plate because “The Jerre” proposed to her on Sunday evening.
Jeremy Van Horebeek: It was a good weekend for me. It's a shame that we missed the podium because it was secretly a small dream to say goodbye with a podium place. The rain on Sunday gave me mixed feelings. It was an advantage for Team Belgium but at the same time also a disadvantage. Especially for me, because I knew straight away that my bike was going to have a hard time in the tough conditions. Saving my bike to reach the finish in both heats was as much of a concern as trying to squeeze everything out of my body one last time. Five weeks ago I still had a paralyzed arm after my fall in St-Jean d'Angely. Even though disappointment dominates, I can consider myself fortunate to be part of Team Belgium.
