Bax/Cermak World Sidecar Cross Champion!
Etienne Bax/Ondrej Cermak became 2022 Sidecar Cross World Champion in Rudersberg. Together with Varik/Kunnas they entered the very last GP round with an equal score. Bax came second and Varik fourth. This made Bax/Cermak World Champion 2022 in the competition won by Vanluchene/Bax.
Brown/Chamberlain took the holeshot but could not enjoy this position for long. Vanluchene quickly got over this and rode out the heat in a controlled manner as the winner. This made Vanluchene/Bax the day winner in Rudersberg and third in the final standings of the 2022 World Sidecar Cross Championship. Bax/Cermak then rode second, with opponent Varik catching up slightly in the middle of the race, but they were never really threatened. Second place at the finish meant the fifth World title for Etienne Bax and the first for the Czech Republic on behalf of Ondrej Cermak. Varik ended up fourth at the end because Veldman/Lebraton stole third place.
For example, on the day's podium in Rudersberg there was winner Van/Luchene Bax, second Bax/Cermak and third Varik/Kunnas.
For the final standings in the World Cup, the same names remained on the podium. Only now with Vanluchene/Bax in three, Varik/Kunnas in two and Bax/Cermak as total winners.
