This Sunday the Final (O)NK Sidecars and Quads Lierop
Circuit de Herselse bosen in Lierop will be the setting for the final of the Dutch Sidecar & Quad Masters on Sunday, September 11. The NK Quads, NK Sidecar and NK Rookie Quads will be at the start in the supporting program.
The Netherlands is strongly represented in the world of sidecar cross and all these combinations will appear behind the starting gate in Lierop during the absolute season finale on the Herselse bosen circuit. For four-time sidecar cross world champion Etienne Bax, Lierop is a home race, which is an important preparation for the final battle for the world championship that will take place a week later in Rudersberg, Germany. In July, Bax already secured the Dutch title for the ONK Sidecar Masters championship.
In the Quads, the battle is currently still going on between Jan Vlaeymans from Lier, Belgium, and the indestructible Joe Maessen from Ysselsteyn, Limburg. With a difference of just under 27 points, the tension in Lierop will continue until the last moment and will be decided at the very last minute.
In addition to the highest class, the national Dutch championships will also be completed in the final phase. At the NK Sidecars, the battle for the title is between Kevin van Vaerenberg & Dirk van Dijk and Ruben van Werven & home favorite Nick Maas. Unfortunately, Ruben van Werven was injured and it seemed that Nick Maas could not start on his home track. Father Cor van Werven then decided to make a one-off return this Sunday so that Maas can still shine in front of the home crowd. Cor van Werven Nick Maas is now driving around with number 88. In addition to Nick Maas, we also see 'show' driver Han van Hal at the start next to Lins Steijnen.
The entrance fee for adults is €20,00 and for young people from 12 to 17 years old it is €10,00. The event is freely accessible to children under 12 years old. The party tent is freely accessible to the public on Saturday evening. There is a party in the tent on Saturday evening and it is also possible to spend the night on the site.
