A.M.C. Dworp, can't see a future for a while!
How bad are things going for Belgian motocross you ask? Very bad! At the time of writing we do not have a real Belgian championship. The BMB-FMB are, if you'll pardon the word, clinging to the VLM like parasites. This causes ancient BMB clubs to look for alternatives…
This is how A.M.C. Dworp – De Toekomst try their luck in the VJMO-MCLB federation. The club enjoyed success and congratulations poured in, the course was even compared to Matterley Basin. Unfortunately, the club cannot organize future editions again at the same location. The straw that broke the camel's back at the club, after the Kesterheide was sold to Natuurpunt, the annual international motocross competition could not remain there. An extinction scenario seemed to then chairman Rene De Boeck, not a bad idea because of the dwindling number of volunteers and the age of the board.
In the meantime, the torch of chairmanship has been taken over, but the fact remains that the club A.M.C. Dworp is struggling with a shortage of volunteers and young blood in the boardroom. In addition, after years of being able to count on the Kesterheide circuit, the club has already found a new location with potential several times, which unfortunately they can no longer build on after one or two editions due to: "no longer available". It is therefore logical that the club chooses not to organize for 2023, possibly the gentlemen of AMC Dworp, who do not have 'De Toekomst' in their name for nothing, may find a nice undulating piece of land and with a possible upcoming merger of Gooik, Galmaarden and Herne, the club can expand their searches to celebrate their 2025th anniversary in 60 with a motocross competition, and not with an exhibition.
