Van Erp fights his way to victory
Two weeks ago, Ivano van Erp was treated for burns while Janis Martins Reisulis was honored on the podium after his victory in Lommel. In Uddevalla the Brabander managed to take revenge, the Yamaha rider continues to fight and manages to win the first round on the Uddevalla circuit. His teammate Ferruccio Zanchi completes the success for Team MJC by crossing the finish line in second. Laban Alm finished third in front of its own audience, Cas Valk finished fifth and did well in the title battle.
In the first heat, Alm takes the best start ahead of Team Tech32 rider Russi, Mads Fredsoe and Maximilian Werner. The Reisulis brothers come ninth and tenth from the first full lap, followed by Fantic riders Alexis Fueri and Valk. From seventh place, Van Erp works his way forward while Lam and Matteo Luigi Russi distance themselves. They fight for the lead for almost ten minutes, but then Zanchi and Van Erp join in. The Yamaha riders take over the best positions but Janis Martins Reisulis also comes to the front and he passes both YZ125 riders. The victory seems to go to the Latvian, but before the sign goes out for the final round, the Dutch Masters of Motocross 125cc Champion makes a mistake. Van Erp seizes his opportunity and wins ahead of Zanchi and home rider Alm. Reisulis is flagged fourth by Valk, who shows a great way to catch up. The Fantic rider is doing well in the title battle because Karlis Alberts Reisulis does not finish and Fueri finishes seventh. Unfortunately, the other Laaglanders were unable to qualify for the competition.
Tomorrow morning at 9:45 am the starting gate for the second heat will close. Valk now has 51 points ahead of Karlis Alberts Reisulis and 54 points ahead of Alexis Fueri. So if the rider from Nijverdal stays ahead of these riders, he will be assured of the EMX125 title!
