Jeremy Seewer wins MXGP of Sweden
World Championship Mo With a second place and a victory in the heats, the final victory goes to Jeremy Seewer. Despite the pressure from Tim Gajser, the Swiss remained calm and won the second series and the GP.
The holeshot in the second series also belonged to the Swiss. He preceded Romain Febvre and Calvin Vlaanderen. Tim Gajser left in fourth place, but immediately took second place. Brent Van Doninck also cleared the fence well with an 8th place. Maxim Renaux had an unfortunate fall on a table mountain and was hit by a car. He had to go to the pits with pain in his side.
Romain Febvre was better on the road in this second series and put Gajser under pressure. Mitch Evans was now back at the front and followed the trail of Febvre's Kawasaki. With only one good line the race came to a standstill, overtaking is difficult in such circumstances.
With ten minutes left on the clock, Tim Gajser stepped up and tried to close the gap on leader Seewer. The first four now drove within three seconds and the outcome was highly unclear. Ultimately, Seewer won the series ahead of Tim Gajser and Romain Febvre. Jeremy Seewer thus wins the GP ahead of Tim Gajser and Glenn Coldenhoff. Gajser remains the leader in the standings by a wide margin. Next week the MXGP caravan will move to Finland for the next race which will be held on the sandy Hyvinkää circuit.
