The illustrious 875 Trophy returns to Orp-Le-Grand this weekend!
Next weekend there will be another cross-country event at the Kleine Gete in Orp-Le-Grand with the '875 Trophy' exclusively for vintage cars. Inspired by the mythical Trophy created in 1976 on the Orp-Le-Grand circuit, the new version of this race will be held on Sunday by teams of three riders in three classic car classes 125cc, 250cc and 500cc. As usual, there will be the FPCNA competition in Orp on Saturday.
The Trophee 875 was an illustrious competition that caused a lot of furore in the 70s and 80s with big names on the bill. The design was as ingenious as it was simple: put a pilot on the three machines with an engine capacity of 125, 250 and 500cc and show who is the best.
This tour de force is the work of the club AMC Orp-Le-Grand, where the trio of enthusiasts Pascal Muls, Francis Stempien and Luc Maricq put their shoulders to the event together with Paul Grenier from AMC Orp. In this way, they ensure that the future of Orp motocross is guaranteed after the death of chairman Robert Gysembergh.
A number of ex-GP riders will be present as VIPs, including André Malherbe, Jean-Claude Laquaye, Yvan Van Den Broek, André Massant, André Vromans, Mark Velkeneers (who also drives number 104), Jean-Paul Mingels, Robert Greisch and Guy Van Gijsegem.
