VLM Cross: Aerden and Grobben triumph in Tessenderlo
In both the 500 and 250, there was one rider in Tessenderlo who stood out. In the half-litre competition it was Cédric Grobben, while Brent Aerden took the lead in the quarter-litre competition.
VLM received eighteen Inters at the registration table in Tessenderlo. Jens Van Meer was the first leader in the opening heat, he was followed by Cédric Grobben, training fastest Glenn Bielen, Brent Aerden and Bryan Engelen. After six laps, Grobben took over command from Van Meer. Grobben would no longer relinquish the lead. Van Meer came second, ahead of Bielen. Aerden was the fastest quarter-liter driver. The advancing Dieter Vromans finished fifth.
Fast starter Bryan Engelen was set back by a crash in the first round. Cédric Grobben then took the lead. The Limburger would no longer give up that first position.
