Geerts, Everts and Van Horebeek to the MXoN in Red Bud
Traditionally, during the MXGP of Belgium, the Belgian team is announced for the MXoN that will be held in the US this year. Johan Boonen, team manager of the Belgian team, announced yesterday in Lommel the names who will defend the colors of the nation on September 25 in the American RedBud.
It is no surprise that Jago Geerts (450 cc), Liam Everts (250 cc) and Jeremy Van Horebeek (Open) were selected as a team. They are the strong riders in the Motocross World Championship.
Geerts, who is currently involved in a battle for the world title in the MX2 class, will participate for the first time in the state of Michigan with a Yamaha 450 cc. The 22-year-old travels to America about ten days in advance to prepare with the powerful engine. With the support of Yamaha USA, he receives all possible support for this mission.
By September 25, Liam Everts will be 18 years old and he can compete for the Belgian Team in the MX2 class with a 250 cc KTM engine. Liam also enjoys the full support of KTM RedBull USA.
Jeremy Van Horebeek, now 32 years young, is in his last season as an MXGP rider within the BETA factory team and gets one more chance to shine in his career with the Belgian Motocross of Nations Team. Jeremy will also be able to count on support from BETA USA.
