Everything you need to know about the MXGP in Lommel
This weekend all motocross eyes are on Lommelwood! A packed weekend of top class motocross spectacle is on the menu. Together with the weather gods, the people of MXGP Flanders are working on a fantastic 14th Grand Prix of 2022.
A lot of attention will be paid to the Belgians with Jago Geerts as an eye-catcher. “The Jag” leads the rankings in the MX2 class, 8 points ahead of Frenchman Tom Vialle. The teams of Geerts and Vialle are making a lot of money on sticker sets because the two have already exchanged the red plate eight times this season. Just to say that Lommel will be the setting for a blood-curdling battle between the two top players.
Liam Everts is also in the picture. The rookie in MX2 is going faster and faster and has already shown some great performances this year. Last weekend he was fantastic in the Czech Republic and will want to show in Lommel that he belongs to the absolute best in the world. Besides the MX2 and MXGP, spectators will also be able to enjoy the EMX125 and the EMX250. In the EMX250 you can see the talented brothers Lucas and Sacha Coenen at work.
Camping
There is also the traditional campsite, which is at a different location, but shuttles are provided for travel to and from the circuit. There is a coffee bar and a cozy dining area, but also a new – extensive – party zone! Showers and toilets are provided at the campsite, with 24/24 supervision. There is no power supply. At the new location the party will be a little more extensive than before, this year with a mixture of live music and our regular atmosphere creators: DJ Vaneigens! The party kicks off on Friday and Saturday with a spectacular FMX show by FMX4ever! The campsite opens on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 9 a.m., and you can register until midnight.
VIP camping
New for this year is a VIP Camping. The old (unfortunately smaller) location of our campsite has room for about 50 campers. This campsite, near the entrance, is equipped with toilets & showers and power supplies.
Practical
Spectators park for free and also have free access to the paddock. The circuit has recently been reversed in direction and that is a completely different experience for the drivers and spectators. The motocross terrain is located on the west side of Lommel, in Industrial Park Balendijk. Turn off your GPS near Lommel and follow the event signs. Our employees will guide you as soon as you are near our car parks. Address: Marie Curiestraat 24, 3920 Lommel. For the less mobile cross-country fan, a paved parking lot is provided near the cross-country terrain. You can reach this by showing your disabled card to our parking inspectors. A specific disabled platform next to the course can be reached via paved roads, just next to our VIP Tent.
MXMag will be there for the full three days so you don't have to miss anything of the spectacle. There will be a report of each series and of course our photographer will be present to record everything for eternity. See you there.
