Fourth victory in a row for Jippe Selen
On the radio circuit in Stevensbeek, Jippe Selen achieved his fourth day victory in a row in the MX 2 youth class. Selen won both heats and thus strengthened his leading position in the championship. Second place went to Sjef Platte with two second place finishes in the heats. Alex van Weerdenburg managed to take third place twice this season with third place in the daily rankings. Fourth place came with Troy Dendooven in Belgian hands and the Spaniard Roger Ponsa completed the top five.
First heat
It was Alex van Weerdenburg who took the holeshot ahead of Jeffrey Wiegmans. As was often the case this season, it was soon Selen who managed to take the lead. Wiegmans had passed Van Weerdenburg and was now in second place. Platte and Dendooven followed behind. Halfway through the heat, Selen had a nice lead and was able to finish the heat in a controlled manner. Behind them, van Weerdenburg and Platte passed Wiegmans, and soon it was Platte who also managed to pass van Weerdenburg. Denddoven passed Wiegmans by, after which the differences between them became increasingly greater. Selen won the heat ahead of Platte, Van Weerdenburg, Dendooven and Wiegmans.
Second heat
It was again van Weerdenburg who managed to repeat his feat and took the lead halfway through the first lap ahead of Jesse van Daal, Selen, Ponsa and Wiegmans. In the second round, as in the first round, it was Selen who took over the leading position. Van Weerdenburg followed within five seconds. Van Daal and Wiegmans had already fallen outside the top five. It was Ponsa who was in third place, followed by Platte and Bob Freriks. A top five position did not last long for Freriks either and it was Dendooven who passed him by. Platte managed to move further forward again and passed Ponsa and also managed to catch up and pass Van Weerdenburg. Selen again won the heat with a wide lead over Platte. Ponsa came close behind Van Weerdenburg to finish fourth. Well behind it was Dendooven who managed to stay ahead of Freriks.
