Van der Beek strongest on the Radio Circuit
The seventh match in the championship battle in the women's class was scheduled for Saturday in Stevensbeek. On the radio circuit it was Jenitty van der Beek who took the day's victory with two heat victories. With two second places, Britt van der Werff finished in second place. With a fifth and third place in the heats, the last podium spot went to Kimberly Braam. Kaylee van Dam and Cynthia Swets completed the top five.
First heat
The story of the first moto is the red flag situation that arose early in the moto. Lianne Muilwijk got stuck between other riders at the start and fell. The yellow flag was of course shown. However, the race management felt that no respect was shown for this flag because the pace was slowed down too much and decided to make it a red flag situation. There were quite different opinions about this and it was mainly the other participants who thought that the speed had been reduced enough. The result was a restart and all other participants were scolded by the race management beforehand. In any case, it is important to respect a yellow flag situation and clearly reduce speed in the area where a yellow flag situation exists. This is not only for the safety of those lying there, but is also for the safety of those who drive past.
At the restart it was Amber Simons who was the fastest. She was followed by Swets, van Dam, van der Werff and van der Beek. Soon it was van der Beek who moved to second place. Van der Werff was now in third place ahead of Swets and van Dam. Simons now had a small lead, but she was overtaken again by van der Beek and van der Werff. Both ladies passed Simons and it was van der Werff who managed to take the lead. She had to give this up to van der Beek in the penultimate round, who then won the heat ahead of van der Werff. Simons followed ten seconds in third. Behind them, van Dam managed to maintain fourth place and in the final lap it was Braam who passed Swets.
Second heat
It was van der Beek who took the lead ahead of Simons, van der Werff, van Dam and Braam. Van der Beek quickly took a lead and was in control throughout. behind them came Simons and van der Werff, who were followed at an appropriate distance by van Dam and Braam. In the third round it was Braam who managed to take over fourth place. On the next lap it was van der Werff who passed Simons. With this the positions seemed to be taken for the heat. Halfway through the heat, however, it was Simons who ended up along the track and rode into a sand pile. She dropped out and it was Swets who ended up in the top five. Van der Beek won the heat ahead of van der Werff and Braam. Swets joined van Dam on the rear wheel, but she was unable to pass.
