Sick Elzinga still takes World Cup points
During the Spanish Grand Prix, Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing came into action because the European 250cc Championship had a free weekend. Rick Elzinga managed to score eight points, the rider from Zenderen did not participate in the second round due to illness.
Rick Elzinga:
“On Friday I got sick, so I didn't finish the qualifying race. I wanted to try it during the races and the first heat started very well. I won the FOX Holeshot Award and the first 20 minutes of the match went well. After that it became increasingly difficult for me, so I dropped back to thirteenth place. Satisfied with the points, but because the EMX continues next week, we have decided to skip the second round.”
