When does the musical chairs for 2023 start?
The first contracts for 2023 have been signed in the USA. Cooper Webb, Aaron Plessinger, Chase Sexton, Jason Anderson and Malcolm Stewart are under contract for next season. Eli Tomac and Dylan Ferrandis signed their 2023 deal earlier this month. The first rumors are now also emerging for the FIM MXGP-MX2 World Championship. According to our information, Jeremy Seewer, Maxime Renaux, Romian Febvre, Jeffrey Herlings, Jorge Prado, Simon Langenfelder, Mikkel Haarup, Kay de Wolf, Roan van de Moosdijk, Kay Karssemakers and Tom Vialle have a deal for 2023!
The current World Cup leaders, Tim Gajser and Jago Geerts, could therefore change employers. Everything looks like it will be extended, but Geerts is also said to be thinking about an MXGP adventure. The contracts of Glenn Coldenhoff, Brian Bogers and Calvin Vlaanderen are expiring. Bogers would of course like to stay with Standing Construct Racing-Husqvarna. Flanders has been looking for a factory team for years, and of course he has done good business in Riola Sardo. After eight races, Coldenhoff occupies an excellent fifth place in the standings, but is therefore the third Yamaha rider.
Because Vialle is going to switch to MXGP, KTM has to look for new names. Several names are mentioned, including two Belgians! Liam Everts could switch to the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team after a season at Team Diga Procross. After a season in the EMX250, Lucas Coenen seems to be making the switch to the World Championship. Will he move on to the factory team so soon?
Both Kevin Horgmo and Jed Beaton have contracts for 2022 with the F&H Kawasaki Racing Team. 2023 is the last season in the MX2 World Championship for the Norwegian.
To be continued……….
