Flanders on pole in Riola Sardo
In 2023, Calvin Vlaanderen has set his sights on a factory team and is busy with the application procedure. In Riola Sardo, the leader in the KNMV Dutch Masters of Motocross 500cc took pole position during the eighth Grand Prix of the season. The Yamaha rider wins ahead of Tim Gajser, Glenn Coldenhoff and Brian Bogers!
Was the fastest in the time training in Flanders, but Prado is back and he is taking the best start. A number of riders crash in the first corner, including Jeremy Seewer, Mattia Guadagnini and Alberto Forato! Gajser seems to be chasing leader Prado, but Flanders passes him while Coldenhoff and Pauls Jonass follow the Slovenian. After seven minutes, Flanders attacks leader Prado and the born South African briefly takes the lead, but the Spaniard quickly comes back. Later in the laps the 25-year-old rider tries again and this time with success. Prado then sees Gajser pass and the World Cup leader tries to attack the leader. That doesn't work and the Honda rider opts for second place. In the final phase it becomes even more exciting when Coldenhoff, Bogers and Renaux join third man Prado. Coldenhoff, born in Oss, takes over third place and while Bogers attacks Prado, he makes a mistake. Bogers finished fourth ahead of teammate Pauls Jonass. Maxime Renaux falls over Prado, the Frenchman finishes sixth. The best Belgian is Brent Van Doninck, the Riley Racing driver is eleventh ahead of Jeremy Van Horebeek.
Both competitions for points will be held tomorrow. The first heat starts at 13:15 PM, the second follows at 16:10 PM. The races can be watched LIVE via MXGP-TV, the EurosportPlayer and the Belgian PlaySports also show all heats live! The NOS has a live stream via their website, but only the MXGP class.
