Rick Elzinga takes the double again
In Oldebroek Rick Elzinga managed to win both heats, and he did the same in Harfsen. The Yamaha rider won the third race of the KNMV Dutch Masters of Motocross ahead of Lucas Coenen (3-2). The podium at the HAMAC was completed by Andrea Bonacorsi. The Italian from the Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing Team finished second and fifth during the heats and was therefore on the podium.

The Ecomaxx Holeshot Award seems to go to Dave Kooiker, but he makes a mistake before the first corner and falls. Lucas Coenen makes the best start ahead of Elzinga, Sander Agard-Michelsen, Bonacorsi and Sacha Coenen. In the initial phase Bonacorsi managed to pass the Norwegian from the JP Xtreme Xperience Team and a little later the little Coenen also followed. At the front, Elzinga increases the pressure on leader Lucas Coenen and before the start of the third lap, the leader in the standings takes over the lead in this heat. Bonacorsi manages to take over second place after ten minutes and for a moment a duel seems to arise between the Hutten Metaal Yamaha riders. However, Elzinga does not let it get to that point and he takes a decisive lead. The rider from Zenderen wins ahead of his teammate and Lucas Coenen. After a tough duel with Kjell Verbruggen, Kay Karssemakers managed to cross the finish line in fourth. The rider from Boxtel receives pressure from Sacha Coenen in the final phase. The Belgian fell after almost ten minutes and fell back. However, the 15-year-old Husqvarna rider fought to the finish flag and finished fifth.

While father Elzinga quietly eats a fries, the starting gate for the second heat falls and Lucas Coenen takes the best start. The Belgian wins the Ecomaxx Holeshot Award again. Elzinga follows the Belgian and in the second corner he already takes the lead. Karssemakers follows in third place ahead of Kooiker and Verbruggen. In the second laps Kooiker managed to take over third place from Karssemakers, but a little later the rider from Staphorst crashed. Karssemakers takes third place back to Sacha Coenen has other plans and manages to take over third place after about ten minutes. Elzinga tries to distance himself from the front, but the great Coenen does not let that happen easily. Bonacorsi enters the top five and he tries to connect with Karssemakers, but he does not let that happen easily. After more than 16 minutes of racing, the race management raised a red flag because an unsafe situation had arisen on the circuit. The top five is drawn up after ten rounds and Elzinga wins ahead of Lucas and Sacha Coenen.
Next time:
The last race of this championship will be held at the Rhenen circuit. The titles will be awarded on Saturday, June 18 at the beautiful Kwintelooyen circuit against the Utrechtse Heuvelrug.
