Preview MCLB: All eyes on Gooik!
This weekend three MX races are scheduled in Belgium. The most eye-catching is probably the VJMO-MCLB that is heading to the Pearl of Pajottenland, more specifically Gooik!
It must have been a bit of a shock for many motocross enthusiasts when they saw that AMC Dworp was not on the BMB motocross calendar for 2022.
The club from the outskirts of Brussels could no longer agree with the policy of Motorsport Vlaanderen and the Belgian Motorcyclists' Association. But they still organize, now at VJMO-MCLB. They get along with it “Hof te Wijngaard” circuit in Gooik, another meeting in the Pajottenland.
GP circuit!
What's more, the circuit that was put into use for the first time in 2017 is actually a GP circuit (World Championship Sidecar Cross) and therefore more than worthy of hosting races for the MCLB championship. The Inters 250/500 – B and Sidecars A/B will compete for championship points in Gooik. In addition to the usual MCLB classes, a series for Regional & Leisure Riders is also on the program on Sunday. AMC Dworp even worked out a timing in case this series was split in two.
In addition to the familiar MCLB riders, we will probably also see a number of VMCF riders appear behind the starting gate in Gooik. The VMCF competition in Munsterbilzen was canceled last week and thanks to the collaboration between MCLB and VMCF, the riders of the latter federation can go to Gooik this weekend.
Ken De Dycker will also be there in Gooik.
