MX open inters: Third victory for Jacky Tausch
The fifth competition for the NK MX2/Open inters took place in Gemert. At the Wolfsbosch circuit it was Jacky Tausch who managed to score the full 120 points in the MX open inters class for the third time this season. René Albers finished in second place with a third and second place in the heats. Based on the second heat he kept Bram van den Hoek behind him. Loeka Thonies also took fourth place in the daily rankings with two fourth places in the heats. Erik de Bruyn completed the top five with a sixth and fifth place in the heats.
In the MX2 class it was Jelle Bankers who was strongest with a second and first place in the heats. He took his second victory in a row. Jamie Lucas managed to win the first moto, but got into trouble on the last lap of the second moto and did not finish. However, he was still classified and this was enough to finish second in the daily rankings. Third place went to Kevin Simons with a fifth and second place in the heats. Kyle van Zutphen and Ilja Rutten completed the top five in this class.
First heat
It was van den Hoek who seemed to take the holeshot, but he had too much speed in the first corner, so it was Tausch who took the lead ahead of Richard van Kempen, Van den Hoek, Thonies and Albers. Even before the first lap had ended, Albers lost his position and it was Lucas who ended up in fifth place. During the first passage, van den Hoek had passed van Kempen and Lucas soon saw Thonies and Albers pass him by.
Albers quickly continued his progress and was already in third place at the next pass. Van Kempen had also seen Thonies pass him and was now in fifth place. The positions remained unchanged until halfway through the heat. Tausch and van den Hoek had a small lead over Albers, but their battle for the lead took time and Albers managed to catch up again. In the last quarter of the heat it was de Bruyn who briefly passed van Kempen and came through in fifth. However, he soon saw Lucas pass him by, who finished fifth and thus took the heat victory at the MX 2 inters. Thonies was at an appropriate distance from the three leaders for a long time and eventually crossed the finish line in fourth place in a no man's land. The battle at the front lasted until the last lap. Van den Hoek made an ultimate attempt to take the heat victory, with Albers right behind him. However, it was Tausch who managed to hold on and the heat victory went to van den Hoek and Albers.
Second heat
It was again Tausch who had the best start ahead of van den Hoek, de Bruyn, Albers and Thonies. In the first round, Albers advanced after third place. Thonies had to let go of the front four quite quickly and a little later it was also De Bruyn who saw Tausch, van den Hoek and Albers drive away. The battle for the moto victory was once again between the same three as in the first moto. Halfway through the heat, Albers passed van den Hoek and a few laps later Tausch also had to give up his drive. Albers seemed likely to take the heat victory, but one lap later it was Tausch again who took the lead due to a fall by Albers. It was Tausch who won the heat again. Van den Hoek was now behind and could not benefit from Albers' fall and saw the checkered flag in third place. Well behind, it was Thonies who managed to overtake De Bruyn and took over fourth place on the last lap. In the MX2 Inters, the battle for the heat victory went on for a long time between Bankers and Lucas. Bankers had the lead the entire moto and won the moto. Lucas got into trouble on the last lap and did not finish.
