Van Erp wins, Reisulis is the new leader
With two victories, Ivano van Erp has won the second race of the KNMV Dutch Masters of Motocross 125cc. The Yamaha rider wins on the beautiful Oldebroek circuit in front of almost 5.000 spectators, Janis Martins Reisulis finished second today ahead of Cas Valk. Reisulis is the new leader in the standings after two of the four matches.

The sprint to the first corner is always special to see and the audience holds its breath. Van Erp gets off to a good start, as do Levi Schrik, who wins the Ecomaxx Holeshot Award, and Janis Reirulis. The Latvian slips through and takes the lead before the starting field flies over the first table mountain. The KTM rider is followed by Van Erp, Max Werner and Valk, after which a gap immediately opens up to the pursuers. For a moment, Werner tries to take over second place from Van Erp, but the German is passed by Valk moments later. A little later the rider from Nijverdal manages to take over second place, but he quickly recovers. The Brabander takes Valk back and halfway through the match he takes the lead. He no longer relinquishes this position and he wins for Reisulis and Valk. Werner drives a lonely race and the Kosak driver crosses the finish line in fourth place ahead of the Dane Magnus Gregersen, who drives a nice catch-up race. Mirco ten Kate had a tough race, he was in fifth place for a while, but a crash caused him to drop back. Unfortunately, the leader in the standings did not get further than ninth place.

The second round also features the Ecomaxx Holeshot Award for Schrik, which gets a boost from Ten Kate. Reisulis comes out of the first corner as leader ahead of Van Erp and Valk. After eight minutes of competition, 14-year-old Reisulis has built up a lead of almost three seconds. That is the sign for Van Erp to accelerate and Valk is also coming along. The Fantic rider sets the best race lap a little later, but he is unable to find the connection. Van Erp does that and he does everything he can to take over the lead. With success because halfway through the race Van Erp takes the lead and he also wins the second heat. Reisulis again crosses the finish line in second place ahead of Valk. Werner is now in fourth place and the top five is completed by South African Barend Du Toit. He has a great battle with Ten Kate, but no matter how he tries to get fifth place, he cannot get his hands on fifth place.
Organization:
It is not completely new because anyone who has been to Oldebroek before is familiar with the organization and knows how things are organized there. This year it was again taken care of down to the last detail, something that other organizers can still learn a lot from. My proposal is to have all organizers take a course and have it given by the Circuit Oldebroek Foundation!
Next time:
The third race will be held in two weeks, this will take place at the Harfsen circuit. This race was on the calendar for May 8, but due to an adjustment in the MXGP calendar, the club had to find a new date. So the next appointment is on May 1st!
