How can you go to the Youth World Cup with TeamNL?
This year's Youth Motocross World Championship will be held on August 25-26 at the Vantaa circuit. The best youth riders in the world come into action on this Finnish sand circuit with the aim of winning the junior world title. The best youth riders from the Netherlands will also be selected to represent TeamNL during the event. Now that the EMX series are running again, this championship will be used to make a good selection. The following selection criteria have been drawn up by the KNMV for each class.
65cc and 85cc classes
Riders must be in the top three of the European Championship zone final standings, measured up to and including the race on June 26, in order to be selected for the World Youth Championship. A maximum of two riders per class will be selected. If no rider finishes in the top three, the European Championship final in Loket serves as a backup to select the fastest Dutch rider. The minimum performance threshold is then top eight and one driver can be selected.
125cc class
Riders must be in the top eight of the EMX125 standings, measured up to and including the sixth race on June 11-12 in Teutschenthal. Here too, a maximum of two drivers per class are selected.
The KNMV reserves the option to grant participation by means of a wild card in exceptional cases. Riders and teams in the 65 and 85cc classes will be notified by June 28 about participation in the World Championship. Riders and teams in the 125cc class will be notified of their participation by June 14.
