Glenn Coldenhoff wins in Oldebroek
Glenn Coldenhoff won the second race of the KNMV Dutch Masters of Motocross 500cc in Oldebroek. The Brabander finished second and first on the Oldebroek circuit, which earned him the day's victory. Calvin Vlaanderen (1-2) finished second ahead of Brian Bogers, who finished third in both heats.
1e some
From the inside, Bogers makes a very good start and the Husqvarna rider wins the Ecomaxx Holeshot Award. Flanders follows the Eindhoven native ahead of Coldenhoff, Van doninck and Stefan Ekerold. In the first round, Sven van der Mierden manages to enter the top five at the expense of Ekerold. After 20 minutes of racing, however, the German returns to fifth place at the expense of the JH MX Service rider. The trio in the lead leaves Van doninck behind and the Riley Racing driver scores his first points of the championship. In Arnhem, the rider from Herentals unfortunately did not reach the finish line both times. Bogers is able to hold the lead for more than 10 minutes and then Flanders passes by. A little later, Coldenhoff manages to take over second place and the top three is finally known. Flanders wins for Coldenhoff and Bogers completes the podium, Van Doninck and Ekerold round out the top five.
2e some
When the starting gate falls for the last time during this very successful day, Flanders gets off to the best start. He wins the Ecomaxx Holeshot Award ahead of Coldenhoff and Joel van Mechelen on the Vd Velden-KTM. Flanders has little pleasure from his great start and he drops back to fifth place. Coldenhoff takes the lead ahead of Van Doninck and Bogers. After almost 15 minutes, Bogers and Flanders pass Van Doninck. After three laps, Flanders moves up to second place, but that is the maximum for him. Bogers is again third ahead of Van Doninck and Ekerold now completes the top five. Van der Mierden takes sixth place despite hitting the starting gate and therefore starting last.
Organization:
It is not completely new because anyone who has been to Oldebroek before is familiar with the organization and knows how things are organized there. This year it was again taken care of down to the last detail, something that other organizers can still learn a lot from. My proposal is to have all organizers take a course and have it given by the Circuit Oldebroek Foundation!
Next time:
The third race will be held in two weeks, this will take place at the Harfsen circuit. This race was on the calendar for May 8, but due to an adjustment in the MXGP calendar, the club had to find a new date. So the next appointment is on May 1st!
