Dominant Tim Gajser also wins in Latvia
There is currently no limit on the Slovenian Tim Gajser. In Kegums, Latvia, he won both series and is thus further away from Jorge Prado in the world championship standings. The Spaniard faces a deficit of no less than 66 points due to making mistakes in both series.
It was Pauls Jonass who took off like a rocket in the second series. Ruben Fernandez, Tim Gajser and Brian Bogers were the first pursuers. Jorge Prado was now sixth and started the first lap just ahead of Maxime Renaux. Jeremy Van Horebeek passed thirteenth.
Gajser immediately attacked Fernandez and then focused on the leading position of home rider Pauls Jonass. Prado again made a mistake and disappeared to the back of the race. HRC Honda rider Mitch Evans was on his way quickly as he took off on a 21th place to get through on the 11th after four lapsde cutting.
Brian Bogers was on a mission and defeated Ruben Fernandez after 10 minutes of the match. Bogers was now in a good third place. Jeremy Van Horebeek took a bale of straw with him on the road with his Beta and had to go to the pits to have the remains picked from the rear wheel. After 7 laps Gajser had enough and took over the lead from Jonass. Brian Bogers had to lose three places after a mistake and ended up in sixth place.
Tim Gajser wins the second series and therefore also the GP. Coldenhoff managed to take third place from Fernandez at the finish line. Due to Jorge Prado's mistakes, his deficit to Gajser has increased to 66 points in the standings. The next grand prix will be held in two weeks at the beautiful Maggiora circuit in Italy.
