Bax/Cermak win dramatic 1st heat in Oldebroek!
Bax/Cermak won the dramatic first heat of the Dutch Sidecar Masters in Oldebroek.
Bax/Cermak immediately took the holeshot, with Vanluchene/Bax following in their wake. This flew over the table mountain past Bax. Bax/Cermak, however, quickly got things back in order and quickly regained first place. Behind this there was a fight between Keuben/Rietman and Van Werven/Van den Boogaart. However, after three rounds this fight ended abruptly when Keuben/Rietman did not land well on the washboard and had to go off hard. Bakker Rietman left the track with a previously unknown injury. At the front it was Bax who ran away from Vanluchene. Van Werven/Van den Bogaart gained momentum in third place and halfway through the race they quickly caught up with Vanluchene/Bax, who only rode their first race in 2022. Van Werven/Van den Boogaart eventually took over second place, but were never able to get back to leader Bax. . Bax/Cermak won the first round in Oldebroek by a large margin. Van Werven/Van den Boogaart then came second and Vanluchene seemed to be third. However, the devil was in the tail! Just before the start of the last lap, the swingarm of the Vannluchene/Bax sidecar finally sagged and they literally had to stop the fight, stuck! This was a welcome gift for Veldman/Janssens who had ridden from the very last place to fourth and now also took third place.
