Lawrence doesn't tolerate any opponent near him
In Detroit, Jett Lawrence managed to book his third victory of the season. The Honda rider won in the Ford Field ahead of Cameron McAdoo (Kawasaki) and Pierce Brown (GasGas). Despite the Australian's superiority, his lead is only eight points over McAdoo. Brown climbs to third place, 31 points behind the leader!
In the final Lawrence takes the best start, but at the exit of the first corner Stilez Robertson has more speed. The Husqvarna rider takes the lead ahead of Kyle Chisholm and Lawrence. In the first lap Lawrence managed to fight back to the lead, which he never relinquished. In the second half of the final, Brown comes dangerously close due to stragglers. The GasGas rider opens the attack but fails, after which Lawrence takes distance again. Brown still has to bow to McAdoo in the final phase, who managed to fight back strongly after a poor start. RJ Hampshire is fourth ahead of Jordon Smith.
The championship continues next week with play at Indianapolis' Lucas Oil Stadium.
