Van doninck talks about his victory in Hawkstone Park
Brent Van Donnck showed a very strong match in Hawkstone Park. The Yamaha rider is confidently looking forward to the start of the Grand Prix season. Here the Riely Racing driver tells his story.
Brent Vandoninck:
“It went better than I expected. I started preparing for the season later than usual and didn't think I would be so strong here. The circuit was particularly tough and this caused many engines to have problems. Even though I lost power, I still tried to complete the heat, but unfortunately the engine stopped working in the final phase, which meant I could forget about a good final result. The riding went well in the second heat and I worked my way to the front. With a few laps to go I managed to pass Thomas Kjer Olsen and Shaun Simpson on and after the double jump. The riding was quite smooth and I wasn't really pushing. I was surprised that I could win the heat this way, but sometimes you have days when it all works out. The preparatory matches are good to warm up, but the results do not say everything. It is nice to start this way and it is good for self-confidence. I would like to thank the team because it was a very tough day but the mechanics did a great job. I'm looking forward to the first Grand Prix in England, which is scheduled for this coming weekend."
