Michael Mosiman on his first victory
He had to be patient and he was close a number of times, but now Michael Mosiman has succeeded. The 22-year-old rider has taken his first Supercross victory. In San Diego he won the third round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship 250SX WestCoast. This is also the first 250SX victory for GasGas, here Mosiman tells his story just like teammate Justin Barcia who loses the “Redplate” this weekend.
Michael Mosiman:
“It's great to get my first win. It is a gift from God and it gives me a lot of confidence. It feels great to repay the people who have always believed in me in this way. And to prove them right in this way. It took a long time and it's a long journey but we managed to do it. I cannot thank my team enough!”
Justin Barcia:
“San Diego was difficult for me, but with ninth place the damage is still fairly limited. I had an average start in the main, but I rode well until I crashed. I had to try and work through a group again. The ninth was definitely not where I wanted to end up, but that's the way it is. I had the feeling that I rode very well, but certainly not special. I'm already looking forward to returning to Anaheim, a place that treats me well, I'm ready to get back on the podium!”
