Craig also won the second match, his response
Christian Craig also won the second round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship 250SX West Coast at the “RingCentral Coliseum” in Oakland. The Yamaha rider managed to pass Jo Shimoda after he made a mistake, after which the 30-year-old rider did not relinquish the lead. The Star Racing driver tells his story here together with teammate Nate Thrasher.
Christian Craig:
“The day actually went without any problems. I qualified first, rode a strong heat and started the final well. I quickly ended up in second place and when the leader made a mistake I managed to take over the lead. I never looked back and won again, it was a pretty easy win but it was nice to get my first back to back win. The Anaheim race was good and last week went well so I came here with confidence and just rode like I did last week. I enjoy it and that is also reflected in my riding at the moment. It's wonderful to start the season like this, I have the right people around me so that makes it all easier. I'm really looking forward to my home race in San Diego next weekend.”
Nate Thrasher:
“I rode very well today but I just have to work on my starts. It was a good fifth place, but I feel like I should have been on the podium. I came from behind but when I reached fourth place I got tired. I'm ready to climb on the podium, I certainly have the speed and if all goes well I might be able to follow Christian. He's riding so strong right now. We just have to start better, I still leave too much behind at the start. This week we are preparing well for the next competition and then on to the podium.”
