Here are the MXGP and MX2 teams for 2022
Although it is a preliminary list, it is already very complete. Here and there a few teams still have to announce their new drivers and just before going to press Jacky Martens also announced his line up for 2022.
The JM Honda Team will head to the world championship next year with Henri Jacobi and Ivo Monticelli in the MXGP class. Jacky Martens is also coming with an MX2 team. It is Petr Polak who will drive the team's 250F Honda. There have been many shifts in the grand prix world in recent months. Existing teams were also given another engine, such as the De Carli Team, which is now on the road with GasGas. It is certainly not an abrupt transition for the drivers.
Currently the list contains more than 35 teams that will participate in the MXGP and MX2 championship next year. And of course there are also some newcomers to note. For the Belgians, all eyes are on Liam Everts who will ride a full season in the MX2 class for the first time.
The usual two-day format will return in 2022, meaning that on Saturday the MXGP and MX2 qualifying races will be held alongside practice, as well as the first series of the EMX and WMX classes. The 2022 FIM Motocross World Championship kicks off at Matterley Basin in Winchester for the MXGP of Great Britain on February 19 and 20.
