Everts and Olsen to Diga Procross KTM
DIGA Procross team has been working closely with the KTM group since 2018. The ambitious German team first competed on Husqvarna and has been the official MX2 team for GasGas for the past two seasons. For next year the formation comes with a strong line-up: Thomas-Kjer Olsen in the MXGP and Liam Everts in the MX2!
The Dane Thomas-Kjer Olsen (24) was a regular in MX2 where he became vice world champion in 2019 and won 5 GPs. In his first MXGP season, TKO immediately finished in the top 10 in ninth place. During the last GP of the season he finished sixth for one heat.
For Everts, 2022 will be his first full year at World Cup level. The 17-year-old Belgian is tipped as an emerging talent thanks to his excellent technique and perseverance. He achieved podium finishes in both the EMX125 and the EMX250. This year he was also awarded the Ricky Carmichael award.
Justin Amian, DIGA Procross team manager: “We are happy and proud that we can officially represent KTM in the Motocross World Championship from 2022. With Liam Everts we have a young, hungry and very talented rider in our team, and we will try to support his progression as best we can. With Thomas Kjer Olsen we will start a new chapter in the premier class in 2022. Thomas has developed enormously personally in his 2021 MXGP rookie season and has already shown his speed. That gives us confidence that he can also reach the top in the MXGP. Our team is committed to great results and we will do everything we can to get better and better every day. I would like to thank Pit Beirer and Robert Jonas for the confidence they have shown in us and for the opportunity to represent KTM at the highest level.”
Robert Jonas, VP of Motorsports Offroad: “With the combination of Thomas, Liam and the DIGA Procross team we are able to create an exciting project for 2022 and beyond. To say we have high expectations for both drivers in their class is an understatement. We know that Justin and the rest of the DIGA crew will help them along the way and also push the KTM brand very hard. We are already looking forward to seeing both drivers on the track.”
