“There was a lot wrong at the Eurocircuit”
BUILDINGS AND CONSTRUCTIONS NOW MEET THE REQUIREMENTS AGAIN
Buildings and structures at the Eurocircuit in Valkenswaard again meet the requirements. Dozens of measures were necessary to prevent safety risks for athletes and visitors. There was a lot wrong at the Eurocircuit, but buildings and structures now meet the requirements again. The project, for which a quarter of a million euros was allocated last year, is now as good as completed.
The municipality had to catch up enormously. Before 2015, there had been little supervision of the Eurocircuit, the complex that houses a total of six associations, for forty years. As a result, approximately 2500 square meters of construction had been created without a permit or building agreement and therefore in violation of the zoning plan.
There appeared to be quite a bit wrong with the property
This included canopies, huts, alcoves, extensions and containers. Last year, the municipality decided that this situation could not continue and - regardless of the discussion about the future of the site - had to be resolved. After all, the structures were used intensively, but after checks in the field of fire safety and construction and installation technical matters, it turned out that there were a number of things wrong. This could also create a safety risk for visitors and athletes.
