Kevin Horgmo makes World Championship return with F&H Kawasaki
After F&H Kawasaki Racing Team announced the return of Jed Beaton last week, today the team 'dropped' the arrival of Kevin Horgmo. The fast Norwegian became vice champion in the EMX250 this year, but will compete again in the MX2 World Championship next year.
For the fifth consecutive year, Team F&H will officially represent Kawasaki in the MX2 World Championship next season. The arrival of Horgmo creates high expectations for both team and driver. Kevin is one of the most talented riders from Scandinavia and fought fiercely for the EMX250 title this summer.
Ultimately, 21-year-old Horgmo finished the championship in second place behind Italian Nicholas Lapucci. He took two overall victories, three heat victories and six podium places. The MX2 World Championship is not new for the social media hero.
In 2020 he rode the full MX2 season and this year he finished 12th in the Czech Republic as a wildcard rider.
After his successful experiences, Kevin now heads to the GPs as a more experienced and mature rider. In the meantime, the F&H Kawasaki acquisition has already started working with Marc De Reuver, who will also coach the riders of the Dutch top team next season.
Kevin Horgmo: “I'm really excited to ride for F&H Kawasaki Racing Team. The KX250 is a completely new bike for me, but after the first test I immediately felt at home on it. Being part of a team like this is what I've missed in the past. The team has everything I need to succeed, so now it's up to me to deliver! It will also be good to work with Marc as a trainer; I will definitely learn a lot from him!”
Nathalie Fase (F&H Kawasaki team manager): “We look forward to working with Kevin. He has already shown in the past what he is capable of. With the full package we can offer him and a good winter, we think he can make a big step towards success in the MX2 GPs. The first tests have been completed and everything looks good. Kevin has quickly adapted to the bike and is showing great promise! We are already working hard together and are looking forward with optimism to a great adventure together!”
