VLM Lummen: Kevin Van Geldorp takes Flemish title!
Bad luck for Tony Geijsels and his organizing FUN-MX team. The final of the Flemish championship was decapitated by the Inters due to a canceled second round. It didn't matter for Jens Van Meer, winner ahead of Arno van Mieghem and Brent Aerden. Kevin Van Geldorp (intro photo) only needed a fifth place to secure the Flemish title!
With 19 participants, this final was sparsely occupied. Dieter Vromans sent his quarter liter to the fastest time in the morning training ahead of Van Meer and Cambré.
The only match of the day had little to do (sports wise). Multiple VLM champion Van Meer was in the lead from start to finish. Arno Van Mieghem had started well behind Van Meer and held second for the entire heat. Dieter Vromans was third for a long time but dropped out half the race. Brent Aerden was able to take third place and was once again the best 250cc rider.
Birthday boy Kevin Van Geldorp finished fifth after Jilani Cambré, his rival for the Flemish title.
