Adjust suspension? From now on, use Motoklik
In previous publications about the Motoklik system we already showed what founder Jens Köpke had to offer. The device is now ready and can be ordered.
Every motocross racer knows that adjusting the suspension of a dirt bike is something you do by feel. Ok, there are a number of parameters that you can set, such as the static sag and the rider sag. However, on the track it is mainly a matter of feeling and that differs from rider to rider. Not everyone can read a suspension and that is why there is now the easy-to-use system from Motoklik.
What does Motoklik do for you?
It uses a number of small devices on the motorcycle to measure the movement of the front and rear suspension. A central unit sends all data to an app on your smartphone where you can directly see the influence of your setup.
How does it work?
The system consists of four parts:
- A Central Control Unit (CCU) that is placed between the triple clamps and the front number plate.
- A Satellite position antenna for the handlebar.
- A measuring instrument that goes on the left wishbone.
- A measuring instrument that is placed on the swingarm between the frame and the master brake cylinder.
The data recorded by the Motoklik device is downloaded to the Motoklik mobile app via Bluetooth. The app has 6 basic functions:
- Lap Timing analysis calculated from the satellite position data.
- Section Timing analysis calculated from the satellite position data.
- Front and rear suspension position data.
- Bottoming identification to determine where on the track the suspension is making the most use of available travel.
- Bottoming analysis to determine if it is a problem with the front or rear of the suspension, and at what speed the suspension is moving.
- Live Suspension Sag gives the user the ability to monitor the front and rear suspension position in real time.
What's the benefit?
You see what you are doing with Motoklik. Lap times don't lie. A motocross circuit can be divided into sectors at will to get a more accurate picture of the suspension in a specific location. That is why there is the connection with GPS satellites.
The app for drivers, the dashboard for technicians
Motoklik's sensors provide a lot of useful data. You will see this in a simplified view in the mobile app. However, there is also a platform for technicians and suspension tuners. They log in to the Motoklik dashboard and can dig much deeper into all the Motoklik data.
Who is Motoklik for?
For anyone who wants to get the most out of the engine and adjust their suspension with useful data that does not lie. The app tells you what to do with the clickers of your suspension and compares the lap times before and after the change. A well-adjusted suspension is also for safety. Your engine will be more stable at higher speeds.
For which motorcycles is Motoklik available?
The Motoklik TW1.0 product is currently designed for use with the latest models of 4-stroke dirt bikes from GasGas, Honda, Husqvarna, Kawasaki, KTM, and Yamaha. The kits are designed for use with standard and kit suspension, such as the WP Cone Valve 48 & Trax Shock, WP XACT PRO and Öhlins kits. Systems for KTM enduro models are in development and will be available soon. Two-strokes will also be able to be equipped with Motoklik in the future.
MXMag will soon conduct an extensive test with the Motoklik system. You can order the device via this link.
