Two weeks without a motorcycle are good for Kevin Strijbos
In Teutschenthal the results at Gebben-Van Venrooy Racing were somewhat disappointing, but not everyone was dissatisfied. Kevin Strijbos had two difficult weeks, but despite this the Belgian managed to score well. Calvin Vlaanderen only scored in the first round, Brent Van Doninck had a terrible weekend. The trio of Yamaha riders tell their story here after the German GP.
Kevin Strijbos:
"I'm happy with this Grand Prix considering how difficult it has been for me in the last few Grand Prix's. I didn't ride anymore from Riola due to health problems and also got sick on Monday. I guess I can't complain with a 15-12 in the heats. In both motos I got off to a reasonable start and managed to stay around my position in both the first and second motos. The track was very treacherous with all the ruts but I am happy with my day. I would like to thank all the people who helped me get back on track and now we are going to France."
Calvin Flanders:
"It was an average day for me at the German Grand Prix. I had a hard time finding the right setting during training. In the first heat I rode in eleventh place for the entire race. I did everything I could, but I was unable to overtake the riders in front of me because we were following each other in a train. In the second moto I crashed at the start and was unable to continue my way afterwards. Fortunately, I didn't suffer anything from the crash and I will make sure my body is ready for the next fight in France."
Brent van Doninck:
"It was a terrible weekend for me. I am very disappointed with my day. I think it was my worst day of the whole year. In the first moto I got a bad start and then crashed on the second lap due to another rider. I started from last place and managed to finish twenty-fourth. In the second moto I got a good start but didn't have the right feeling on the track. I couldn't start because I wasn't in my rhythm. I felt terrible on the track. I crossed the finish line in fifteenth place. I lost a number of places during the race while I normally overtake riders. Hopefully we have a better weekend in France!”
