Hofer takes first GP victory for Austria
A special day for Rene Hofer and Austria because the first MX2 Grand Prix victory for both is a fact. With a fourth and first place, the 19-year-old rider wins the fifteenth GP of the season at the Arco di Trento circuit. Jago Geerts (2-6) and Ruben Fernandez (3-5) are on the podium again. Renaux loses five points of his lead to teammate Geerts.
De Wolf scored well in both heats, the 17-year-old cross rider from Eersel finished eighth and twelfth during today's races. The other lowlanders do not score.

Like an arrow from a bow, Vialle leaves when the starting gate has fallen for the first heat. The Frenchman takes his 16th FOX Holeshot Award ahead of Geerts and Simon Langenfelder. In the first corner, Stephen Rubini crashes after a collision with Renaux and it is Thibault Benistant who runs over his compatriot. At the front, Vialle and Geerts quickly broke away from Ruben Fernandez, who managed to hold onto third place for the entire race. Rene Hofer takes fourth place ahead of Isak Gifting. This position has been in the hands of Conrad Mewse for a long time, but the British machine comes to a standstill. Renaux is on his way to the top five, but an action by Kay de Wolf brings the Yamaha rider to the ground. Fortunately, he manages to recover and is able to finish sixth. De Wolf is good for seventh place, where Florent Lambillon (25th) and Julian Vander Auwera (27th) do not score.

In the second round it is also Vialle who takes the FOX Holeshot Award, now ahead of Renaux, Hofer, Guadagnini and Langenfelder. Not the best start for both Geerts and De Wolf, who have to start the race over 30 minutes and two laps outside the top ten. On the first lap Renaux attacks Vialle and the Yamaha rider takes the lead. Then he seems to make a mistake and is hit by the KTM rider! Both riders crash and Hofer takes the lead from Guadagnini. Vialle returns to the match, but after a second fall his match ends prematurely. Hofer distances himself from Guadagnini, who is now scoring well after a number of poor games. Jed Beaton now crosses the finish line in third place ahead of Renaux and Fernandez. De Wolf has been in the top ten for a long time, but a slide throws a spanner in the Husqvarna rider's plans. He then crosses the finish line in twelfth place. Julian Vander Auwera (28th) and compatriot Florent Lambillon (28th) remain outside the points.
Next time:
Next Sunday the third showdown will take place in Arco di Trento, after which the circus will travel to Mantova where two more competitions will be held. This will happen on November 7 and 10.
