Mikkel Haarup rises to twelfth position
In a sunny Arco di Trento, Mikkel Haarup has made up places in the FIM MX2 World Championship. The Dane finishes twelfth and fourteenth during the heats, which means he rises to twelfth place in the title fight. Roan van de Moosdijk's wrist problems are such that it has been decided not to play again this season. The victory just north of Lake Garda went to Tom Vialle. His compatriot Maxime Renaux remains the leader in the standings.
1st Heat:
After his tenth training time, Mikkel will try to improve during both heats over 30 minutes and two laps. The first start means a lot of pushing and pulling in the first two turns on the way to the first jump. The Leatt-clad rider starts the race outside the top 20. In the first round, places are immediately made up, putting him in the points. From 18th position, Mikkel works hard to score as well as possible. With a twelfth place, this still worked out quite well for the 20-year-old rider.
2st Heat:
Unfortunately, the initial phase does not go well, but thanks to good steering, the Kawasaki rider immediately manages to get into the points. The joy is short-lived because in the second laps there is a collision with a colleague, resulting in a loss of places. From 23rd position, Mikkel returns to fourteenth place. This results in thirteenth place in the daily rankings. In the World Championship standings, Mikkel takes over twelfth place from Mathys Boisrame.
Next game:
Next Wednesday the starting gate will fall again in Arco, after which another race will follow on Sunday. Then the trip goes to Mantova for the last two Grand Prix of the season.
