Loon Beach Race: Potisek and Martens divide the loot
Yentel Martens (JM Honda Racing) has started the beach racing season strongly. A dress rehearsal took place in Loon today for the first round of the French beach racing championship in two weeks. Martens and Milko Potisek each won a round. However, the Belgian was the strongest in the Superfinal.
In the timed training in the morning, Martens was already the fastest ahead of Potisek and Alexis Collignon. That trend would continue through the rest of the day.
Potisek narrowly won the first round ahead of Martens in the rain. Collignon followed at a considerable distance. In the second heat the roles were reversed. Now Potiesk ended up in the wheel of Y-Mart! The closing Super Final was also a success for the JM Honda Racing rider. After a heavy fall early in the race, Milko Potisek (photo below) now had to come back from afar to finish second. Matheo Miot finished fourth again.
As well as the race in Loon went for Yentel Martens, it was difficult for fellow brand Lars Van Berkel (photo below). Lars crashed at the start in the first moto, was hit in the second moto and when he finally got a good start in the Superfinal he initially joined Yentel Martens. However, an overtaking maneuver with Collignon went wrong and two corners later the Honda SR Motoblouz rider bit the sand together with Greg Smets.
