“I hung behind the riders in front of me for far too long.”
While Jeremy Seewer almost finished on the podium, Glenn Coldenhoff and Ben Watson had to lick their wounds. Coldenhoff managed to score a reasonable goal, but Watson had a tough day in Lacapelle Marival. The three riders from Louis Vosters' team look back on the French GP here.
Jeremy Seewer:
“I came close to the podium. I got two good starts, but in the second moto Jeffrey Herlings passed right in front of me going into the straight. I lost a few places to the riders behind me and that was a bit of bad luck. A third place in the first moto was a good comeback for me. I got two good starts and had good time training. This was one of the best Grand Prix's of the year for me. I'm starting to like it again. I had a lot of fun driving. I'm coming back again. I still have energy and I feel fresher. There are many more Grand Prix's to come and I want to keep building on this and hopefully we will be back on the podium soon."
Glenn Coldenhoff:
“I felt pretty good this morning. The times were close together in the timed training and I was eighth. This ensured a good starting position in both heats. In the first moto I got a very good start, but it was a bit of chaos on the first straight because the riders in front of me changed lines. Unfortunately I hit a clip and fell in fifth place. It was difficult to get back to the front because the differences between the riders were very small here. In the second moto I missed the good feeling. I've been hanging behind the riders in front of me for far too long. Towards the end I found some better lines but I didn't get further than eighth place. 13-8 are disappointing results. We are now going to work hard for Spain."
Ben Watson:
“I had a really bad day today. I felt bad all day and this started from qualifying. In the first moto I got a good start but was pushed off the track so I had to start the race at the back. I had a hard time and couldn't get a good result out of it. For the second moto I changed a number of things on the bike and this turned out wrong. I also twisted my ankle. I want to get out of here and regroup for the next Grand Prix."
