Coldenhoff: “It was a consistent day but we want more.”
Last Sunday, Glenn Coldenhoff managed to reach the podium. Unfortunately, that was not possible during 'Arco2', but the Brabander scored well. Jeremy Seewer came out strong and Ben Watson also showed very well. After all, the Brit is looking for a team for 2022, so good results are certainly welcome. Here the Yamaha riders of Louis Vosters tell their story at the “Crossodromo Ciclamino”.
Jeremy Seewer:
"I feel very good. This was a great moment to finish second in the second moto. Tony Cairoli had a mission in this moto. I tried to follow him but he walked away quite a bit. He didn't walk very far. I am satisfied with today. I was consistent and rode well. It's quite strange not to be on the podium with a 4-2 in the heats. This shows how competitive the MXGP class is. Whether I'm on the podium or not, I came close and managed to score good points for the championship. That's the most important thing. I'm happy with everything and I'm going to take some rest now and try again next Sunday during Arco 3."
Glenn Coldenhoff:
''The day didn't start well today. I felt good on the track, but I couldn't get further than a sixteenth fastest time. Despite this I still had a good starting place. In the first moto I didn't get a good start. I had to come from far away and that's not easy on a circuit like this. I also didn't feel very comfortable. The second moto was much better. I started in the top five and immediately worked my way up to third place. However, in the middle of the race I started to feel cramped and made some big mistakes. This allowed several riders to pass me. It was a consistent day but we want more.”
Ben Watson:
“I am satisfied with today. I'm finally starting to feel normal again. I know my ankle is not yet 100 percent but I was able to ride the way I wanted to. It was good. I also felt good in qualifying. The first heat was one of the best of this season. It wasn't bad in the second moto either and I managed to finish in the top ten again. I'm looking forward to starting here again on Sunday."
