Cairoli wins and Herlings remains the leader!
Last Sunday Antonio Cairoli did not score, but today the Italian won in front of his own audience. The 36-year-old rider finishes third and first, which gives him his 94th GP victory. Tim Gajser (2-3) finished second today ahead of Romain Febvre (1-5). Jeffrey Herlings loses a lot of points but the 'Redplate' stays in Oploo!
Glenn Coldenhoff (7-6) is fifth today while Brian Bogers (11-8) is eighth today. Jeremy Vanhorebeek is good for tenth place, just ahead of Herlings who only scores in the second moto. Brent Van Doninck (DMF-18) and Kevin Strijbos (19-23) both scored in a round.

There is drama for Herlings in the first corner because the 27-year-old rider crashes in the first corner. His KTM is then hit by two riders causing damage to the machine. The match comes to an early end for the Brabander! Gajser takes the lead ahead of Prado who then sees Febvre pass. The Kawasaki rider follows Gajser like a shadow throughout the race. Then Febvre makes a mistake and his chance for the lead seems to have been lost. He thinks differently about it because Febvre is coming back and that makes for an exciting final phase. It's a great fight with the Frenchman with the most ambitions. The 24-point deficit to Herlings is erased in one fell swoop by Febvre's victory. Gajser comes second ahead of Cairoli, Seewer and Prado. Jeremy Van Horebeek is tenth for Bogers. Kevin Strijbos takes two points, teammate Brent Van Doninck does not finish.
2e some
After a good third place in the first heat, it is Cairoli who makes the best start. The nine-time world champion rides a lonely race and wins for Seewer. In the final phase Gajser becomes dangerous, but the Honda rider has to do everything he can to catch up with the first Coldenhoff. Herlings did not have the best start and managed to work his way up to fourth place. In his hunt for Coldenhoff, Herlings makes a mistake, but later Herlings is still able to cross the finish line in fourth. Febvre comes fifth ahead of Coldenhoff. Bogers crosses the finish line in eighth place and Van Horebeek is now twelfth. Van Doninck takes three points with eighteenth place.
Next time:
Next Sunday the third showdown will take place in Arco di Trento, after which the circus will travel to Mantova where two more competitions will be held. This will happen on November 7 and 10.
